What is InDireita Street Fest?

How to get to InDireita Street Fest
Portimão is a major town in the central-western Algarve, easily reached by road from other coastal resorts. Rua Direita is in the city centre, in the traditional shopping streets close to the riverfront area.
If you are staying elsewhere in the Algarve, driving is often the most flexible option, especially if you want to combine the festival with a beach stop or dinner in town. You can compare car hire options from Faro Airport if you are flying into the region and planning a road trip.
Once in Portimão, the historic centre is compact and walkable. Expect some streets to be busy or partially closed to traffic during the festival, so allow a little extra time to park and walk into the centre.
Tips for making the most of your visit
- Arrive earlier in the day if you are visiting with children, so you can enjoy the expanded kids’ area before it gets too busy.
- Bring some cash as well as a card, as smaller producers and craft stalls may prefer cash payments.
- Wear comfortable shoes – you will likely spend a lot of time on your feet, wandering up and down Rua Direita.
- Stay into the evening if you can, to catch the live concerts and enjoy the street atmosphere after dark.
