Praia de Odeceixe Mar is tomorrow’s standout on the West Coast, with an overall score of 48.73 and a solid comfort rating of 51.15 despite very strong southerly winds around 31.5 km/h. Expect cooler air at about 17.1°C and water near 14.5°C, plus a notable swell of 2.74 m, so this is better for wave-watchers than swimmers. It is an easy-access beach with good practicals for a breezy day: parking is decent (parking score 4), there are toilets, snacks and a beach bar, but no sunbeds or showers, and no lifeguard cover tomorrow.
With 100 percent cloud cover and a high shelter score of 58.0, Odeceixe suits those who do not mind grey skies and want dramatic scenery with scenic cliffs rather than sunbathing. Families should note it is not rated as family friendly (family score 3), and the strong swell and wind make it more of a coastal walk and photo-stop option than a relaxed paddle.
Barlavento (Western Algarve)
Praia do Tonel</strong) in Sagres is tomorrow's main Barlavento option, scoring 44.87 overall with a perfect mode fit for families. Conditions are on the wild side: air temperature sits around 15.9°C, water about 14.9°C, with very strong southerly winds near 33.6 km/h and a hefty 3.12 m swell, so it is more about watching the Atlantic than swimming. Cloud cover is at 100 percent, so pack layers rather than beach umbrellas, and treat this as a dramatic coastal outing with facilities rather than a classic sun-and-swim day.
Sotavento (Eastern Algarve)
Praia do Trafal is tomorrow’s best-balanced pick in the east, with an overall score of 45.0 and the highest comfort rating of the three beaches at 52.68. Expect air temperatures around 16.4°C and slightly milder water at 15.2°C, with moderate south-easterly winds of about 23.8 km/h and a smaller 1.46 m swell, making it the gentlest option for paddling or a walk along the sand. Cloud cover is lower here at 83 percent, so you may see a few brighter spells compared with the west.
Trafal is strongly rated for families (family score 5 and 100 mode fit), with easy access, good parking (score 4), toilets, showers, snacks, a beach bar, sunbeds and seasonal lifeguard cover. With less swell and wind than the west and Barlavento, this is the most comfortable choice for a longer beach stroll or a relaxed afternoon by the sea, even if it is still more of a light-jumper day than a full swim session.
