About the artist, J. Eduardo

He began with drawing, charcoal and Indian ink, and experimented with oil painting in his late teens before pausing for military service. In the 1990s he returned seriously to oil on canvas, holding his first solo exhibition in Lisbon in 1994. He is a member of the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes and has been mentioned in several Portuguese art publications and DVDs focused on naturalism and figurative art.

Ares e Mares is described as a tribute to “his Algarve”, bringing together many of the sensory memories that shaped his life.
